Gilles Marty, contract worker to the French Southern Lands Nature Reserve has a Master of Oceanology (Erasmus, Bracelone) and a DEA (Diplôme d’étude approfondie) of Science of water in the continental environment. He wintered at Kerguelen as VAT (Volontaire à l’Aide Technique) in 1993-95, in the framework of a program of bacteriology. During this period he was also diving for the Benthos Mac program No. 195. He was also diving to Hydro-Quebec (Saint James Bay, Canada, 1997).
From 1998 to 2001, he prepared a nursing degree, profession he exercises from 2004 to 2008 and he specializes in dialysis (2008 – todate). He is currently liberal male nurse in rural sector, dialysis and trainer for the CESU.
In 2013, he obtained the certificate of abality to hyperbary (CAH), class I, mention B, which allows him to practice diving as part of scientific programs.
