During the transit between Reunion Island and the Kerguelen Archipelago, the RV Marion Dufresne serves the bases of the Crozet Islands and Saint-Paul and Amsterdam Islands. Depending on the weather conditions and the activity on board, the Proteker team takes the opportunity to explore these coasts by diving or using a ROV to a depth of 85 m.
On 23 December 2013, it was possible for the first time, to observe the benthos and in particular the spiny lobsters Jasus paulensis under the ship at the Ribault anchorage.
