Angie Díaz is a Chilean marine biologist and Postdoc researcher interested in the evolutionary history of the Antarctic marine benthic invertebrates. During her PhD, supervised by Dr. Elie Poulin, in the use of molecular techniques Angie analyzed the evolutionary relationships and diversification processes of the sea urchin genus Sterechinus in the Southern Ocean. Currently, as a Postdoc researcher of the Universidad de Magallanes (Chile) and The Institute of Ecology and Biodiversity (IEB-Chile), she investigates the phylogeography of the endemic snail of the Southern Ocean Neobuccinum eatoni, looking for determine effects of the quaternary glaciations in populations of Antarctic and Subantarctic islands and if both have the same history.
